Retail Store Update 9.5.23

Hello Big Horn Co-Op employees and Patrons,

It is an exciting time in retail here at the Big Horn Co-Op, with the changing of seasons, and the beginning of fall! We have had a lot of changes in the past few months and with these changes we are beginning to see some of the positive results that we were looking for. The retail facilities are starting to turn a corner financially and beginning to trend in the right direction. We are not where we want to be yet but starting to get there. All your hard work is beginning to pay off.

We have made some organizational changes that will continue to improve our inventory counts, and overall costs in our stores. Tamara Drake has taken a new position of inventory specialist to aid our stores and accounting department in solidifying our inventory control efforts. She is doing a great job and her efforts are already having a positive impact! With Tamara moving to her new position at the home office we had the opportunity to add a new team member to the Worland locations. Morgan Martinez was hired as the Worland Location manager and has also had a positive impact to our locations in Worland. If you haven’t already, please reach out to Morgan and Tamara and congratulate them on their new positions.

Retail is a juggling act, and at times can be very difficult. In the past couple of years, we have faced many obstacles, especially in the supply chain. Between not being able to get product into the stores, increased costs, and transportation struggles it has been very difficult for our front-line employees as well as our patrons. I just want you all to know that you have done a great job taking care of customers, and doing everything that you can to make sure that we have the products that the patrons are needing. Moving forward it appears that the supply chain issues are getting better and hopefully we will stay on that same trend so that we can ensure that we are carrying the products that will make us and our customers successful. Keep up the good work!

As the stores get busier and with winter coming to us quickly, I would like to add one more very important point. SAFETY!!!!! The safety of our employees and our patrons is of utmost importance. Please always pay attention to your surroundings and everyone around you!

Without all of you, there would be no Big Horn Co-Op!
