February Business Update from Jim Gauker
February Business Update from CEO Jim Gauker
January income results were encouraging as we finally beat budget for the month due to cost reductions and a strong performance from our propane business. Our drivers and energy personnel have been diligently working to get automated to ensure customers will not run out of fuel/propane. We are utilizing a program, Digital Dispatch, along with monitors on propane tanks that provide us with levels so we can schedule accordingly.
Much emphasis has been placed on our entire energy division. Since I have taken the CEO role, we have implemented new pricing strategies to become more competitive and we have a much higher level of customer focus at all levels.
To help serve our members and the Big Horn Basin community as a whole:
- We have successfully executed a lease for our Greybull Tire Store. Big Horse Towing Tire & Lube will have a soft opening on Monday, March 3. Their store hours will be M-F 7:30AM-6:30PM, Sat 8AM-2:30PM, closed Sundays. Please call Adam Porter for services and appointments (307) 388-9089.
- We are finalizing a lease for our Basin Farm Store with MTR Ranch Supply. MTR Ranch Supply will be open in the near future, we will provide information when we have more.
As we continue to pay down our debt, we are going to liquidate all assets/property we are not using or will not use going forward.
- Property Updates:
- Looking to sell Worland Tire Store and Worland Farm Store.
- Looking to sell the Buffalo operation and/or lease the facilities.
- Basin lots will be put up for sale.
- Non-Inventory Assets:
- We will be having an online auction through Big Iron starting on March 19. Please check here to place bids on many pieces of equipment.
- We will perform an analysis on remaining equipment, trucks, pallet racking, shelving fixtures, etc. to determine which can be placed into another auction. We will communicate via Facebook/website when this auction will take place.
- Inventory:
- We will be conducting sales to move any inventory items with an expiration date (feed). We are discussing opening each location for a day with great deals to facilitate this process. Please keep an eye out for those dates. Worland Farm Store will be the first location. We will be opening the doors on Saturday, March 15 from 9AM-3PM only.
We appreciate everyone’s support in this process and we will continue to strive to meet and/or exceed your expectations as we navigate our co-op back to profitability. If you have any questions please call me on my cell at (812) 639-7291.
Thank you, we appreciate your support.
